Yoga for Athletes - 6 week Series with Tamsin Douglas ~ Wednesdays, Beginning November 9th, 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM . Whether your work out is at the gym or you are a "desk jockey", Yoga for Athletes is a great way to reduce the risk of injury, stay limber and cross-train. Yoga for Athletes is appropriate for all active people and all levels of yoga experience.

Whether your work out is at the gym or you are a "desk jockey", Yoga for Athletes is a great way to reduce the risk of injury, stay limber and cross-train. Yoga for Athletes is appropriate for all active people and all levels of yoga experience.

Yoga increases strength and flexibility while improving range of motion and helps relieve the aches and pains associated with overuse and training. Whatever your sport – triathlon, skiing, running, tennis, skating, cycling, paddling – yoga can help you remain active and enhance performance. In this series, we will focus on postures that address common issues faced by the elite and everyday athlete such as short hamstrings and tight hips. Through breathing and mindful practices, we will also work on reducing performance anxiety and improving concentration.

Classes one and two: We will explore different asanas that work on strength and flexibility.

Class three: These classes will focus on using asanas to improve physical balance and powers of concentration.

Classes four and five: The focus will be on core strength through a variety of different postures.

Class six: This class will highlight restorative and yin postures and how athletes can use these postures for recovery.

Cost: $90.00 for the 6 week series. Drop-Ins welcome for $18.00 per class.
