Introduction to Restorative Yoga with Ruth Norfolk ~ Sunday, June 26, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM ~ While yoga in itself focuses on muscles and proper muscle alignment, restorative yoga is all about restful postures and is designed to “re-boot” your nervous system and balance out your body.

Introduction to Restorative Yoga
with Ruth Norfolk
Sunday, June 26th
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Have you ever wondered what Restorative Yoga is?

While yoga in itself focuses on muscles and proper muscle alignment, restorative yoga is all about restful postures and is designed to “re-boot” your nervous system and balance out your body.

Your muscles remain quiet in the restorative method. Practicing this form of yoga will give immediate results by lowering your blood pressure and heart rate, loosen up joints, and ease bones. Restorative Yoga will help to keep your endocrine system in check and even boost the immune system. It will keep your healthy flow flowing!

In Restorative Yoga you enter into yoga poses using a variety of props (blankets, bolsters, cushions, walls) which support & stabilize the body to promote relaxation and renewal. These poses are designed to release deeply held tensions, to soothe the nervous system, and to refill our spiritual wells- in fact to help our own healing processes to work, whether we suffer from stress or disease or just need time to truly relax.

Come and join us for a relaxing 90 minutes and learn how to better look after yourself!

Cost: $20.00 per person

The Power of the Mandala
with Louise Lalande
Sunday, June 26th
1:00 PM - 3:30 PM

“Every desire can be turned into a Mandala which clears and resolves any issues that you choose to work on. These Mandalas emit only a very high vibrational energy frequency, that automatically eliminates any incompatible one, cleansing and bringing into balance all the elements of your being. This means clearing any emotional and mental block that a person has around a specific issue resulting in many positive changes and a greater inner clarity. Creating Mandalas can heal both yourself as well as the loved ones.” By Dr Irina Budimir

Since ancient times, Mandalas have been used for meditation and healing. In old Tibet, Mandalas were used in the process of training the mind to be quiet, so that that still place within was more easily accessible. Today mandalas are peaceful anti-stress tools.

Explore the ancient wisdom of the sacred art and science of the Mandala to effectively awaken your soul. Using the expressive art of the Mandala, meditation, prayer and intentionality, you can investigate unique ways to surmount the challenges of life, open to expanding creativity, and increase your experience of joy, love and wholeness. Emphasis on process, not product.

With Louise you will begin to create your own Mandala which you can use to add beauty to your home or personal space, as a focus for quiet meditation or contemplation, in a healing process, or combined with sound and/or light in your own sacred process or ritual.

Cost: $40.00 per person and includes all the supplies you will need to create your Mandala.

Tai-Chi with Pierre Lefebvre ~ Sundays, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM, 6 week series beginning June 12th ~ Immerse yourself in this ancient oriental practice. Tai-Chi, as it is practiced in the west today, can best be thought of as a moving form of yoga and meditation combined.

Tai-Chi with Pierre Lefebvre
Immerse yourself in this ancient oriental practice.

6 Week Series - Sundays - 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM - June 12th to July 17th, 2011

Tai-Chi, as it is practiced in the west today, can best be thought of as a moving form of yoga and meditation combined. The objective of Tai-Chi is to purify one's vital energy (chi) and at the same time to open one's self to a spiritual dimension. The "chi" is a vital energy that is in us, around us, and is the origin of the universe.

Yang style Tai-Chi consists of a series of 108 movements always executed in the same sequence to calm the mind, allowing a sense of peace to be instilled as well as to stimulate a harmonious circulation of this chi, this energy, throughout the body. The 108 movements of Yang style Tai-Chi are conceived to clear the body's meridians. This stimulates the circulation of the vital energy of the body to nourish and stimulate the body's organs. Tai-Chi is relaxation in continual movements.

Tai-Chi is usually represented by the Yin-Yang symbol. Yang is the active element, and Yin the passive. For the Chinese, the balance of the world rests in the harmonising of these two polarities.

Cost: $90.00 per person for the 6 week series. Pre-registration required. Drop-ins are welcome to join the class for $20.00 per person.
